Led Cats to back-to-back winning seasons (1986, and 1987) ... Under Brandt, football Bearcats garnered first national rankings in NAIA Division II, reaching as high as #3 in 1987 ... Brandt was named NAIA District 16 Coach of the Year (1986) ... Coached two SBU Hall of Famers in Lester Baker & Kevin Patterson ... His players earned five NAIA All-American Honorable mentions and twelve NAIA First-Team All-District Awards ... Coached the first ever game at Plaster Stadium in 1985.
