Bolivar, Mo. – The Lady Bearcats of Southwest Baptist University's (SBU) softball team wrapped up their penultimate home doubleheader of the 2026 softball season on Saturday. SBU fell in both games to Truman State University (TSU), bringing their overall record to 18-28 and their Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) record to 7-13.
Senior Day
Before the game the Bearcats got to honor their four seniors in

Taylor Howard,
Emma Kreisel, and Graccee (Godfrey) Brockman.
Game 1: SBU 5-11 TSU
Senior
Shalie Wooden started in the circle in the first game for the Lady Bearcats, pitching five strikeouts and only allowing three earned runs through her 5.2 innings pitched. However, by the time freshman
Cambri Van Loo came in to relieve Wooden, the Bearcats were down 2-8. SBU put a dent in Truman State's lead with a three-run homer in the bottom of the sixth inning by senior
Taylor Howard, but the Bulldogs tacked on three more runs in the top of the seventh, ensuring their victory.
Howard led the Bearcats offensively in the game, going 2-3 with a home run, double, three RBIs, and two runs. Sophomore
Keeley Elsea was responsible for the Bearcats' only other RBI in the game when her single in the bottom of the fifth scored junior
Joscelyn Bennett.
Game 2: SBU 1-22 TSU
TSU started the second game of the day with an 11 run first inning and then never looked back as they cruised to victory. SBU's only run of the game came in the bottom of the fifth inning when sophomore

Ava Minton. Van Loo, Minton,
Lucy Sadewhite, and
Brockman recorded the Bearcats' other four hits in the game.
