Bolivar, Mo. – The SBU baseball team hosted one of the best teams in Division II Tuesday afternoon at Dodson field. The Bearcats fell to Pittsburg State, #5 in the Nation, by a final score of 3-15, moving to a record of 15-22.
Against the potent Gorilla offense the Bearcat baseball defense kept them scoreless sin the first inning but allowed at least a run every inning throughout the remainder of the game. The SBU offense was able to take three off the Pitt State defense which included a run by
Cameron Dean in the 5
th and a
Sam Schmidt two-run homer in the 7
th.
Southwest Baptist will have a few non-conference game coming up on Friday as they host Newman University. This three game series will begin at 5 p.m. on Friday at Dodson field.
