Box Score Bolivar, Mo. – SBU baseball began a three game non-conference series against Newman University Friday afternoon. The Bearcats fell in the game by a final score of 3-13 moving to 15-23 on the season.
 
After a scoreless first inning, both teams struck in the second with the Jets outscoring the Bearcats 1-3. That score would remain until the 4^th when the Hawks poured on four runs in both the 4^th and 5^th inning, extending their lead to ten. After a two-run 7^th and keeping the Bearcats scoreless until the bottom of the 7^th where Reese Ruderman hit a two-run blast scoring him and Ryan Ray.
 
The teams will continue the series on Saturday with a doubleheader currently scheduled for 2 p.m. at Dodson field.
