Lebanon, Ill. – SBU baseball concluded their four-game series against the McKendree Bearcats Sunday afternoon, falling in the final game 1-16. Winning the overall series 3-1, SBU moves to 12-12 (6-6 GLVC) on the season.
The final game of the series belonged all to McKendree as they began scoring in the second, then scored 11 more unanswered. SBU scored their first and only run of the day in the 6
th inning off the bat of
Cooper Burgess who hit a solo home run to right field. That was one of two Burgess hits in the game as teammates
Scott Allan had two and
Ryan Ray had another.
Dane Rodgers started on the mound throwing for two innings recording his second loss of the season.
Cade Langford,
Conner Hammonds,
Caden Norman,
Cannon Frazier, and
Ryan Ott all saw time on the mound.
SBU will continue conference play next weekend as they head back on the road for another four-game series. They will travel to Missouri St. Louis to take on the Tritons beginning Friday, March 27
th at 2:00 p.m.
