Kansas City, Mo. – The SBU men's volleyball team continued their GLVC play Friday evening falling to the Rockhurst Hawks in three sets. That moves their record to 8-6 (0-5 GLVC) on the season.
The Bearcats struggled to get their footing in the first and second set falling 20-25, 14-25. In the third set, after trailing 0-6 SBU went on an 8-1 run to take an 8-7 lead. Southwest Baptist held two more leads throughout the set before falling 20-25.
Evan Strahlendorf led all Bearcats in kills with nine in total hitting for a strong .412 hitting percentage.
Lucas Phelan added along eight kills and
Donel Sengele had four. Even though Silas Riggans had three kills, he didn't have a single attacking error for a .429 hitting percentage.
The team will return to action Saturday, March 21
st for their second game of the weekend against Rockhurst. Game time will be at 2:00 p.m. at Mason Halpin Field House.
