Bolivar, Mo. — The Southwest Baptist Women's Basketball team faced the William Jewell Cardinals at home Saturday afternoon. The Bearcats controlled the entire game against the Cardinals, 77-55, for their fifth straight win against William Jewell.
The game had four Bearcats score double-digit points with a dominant stat line across the board. Starting out strong, scoring 20 unanswered points within a five-minute span by SBU, the Bearcats proceeded to put up 77 points, 45 rebounds, and 16 assists. The team was led by Junior
Kamiyah Hurd who scored 19 points on 75 percent shooting. The other teammates above 10 included: Junior
Claudia Diez Sancho, Junior
Ida Lusadisu N'GondaIda, and Grad Student
Natalia Crooke. Crooke led the team with five separate three's leading the team to its 45 percent shooting and 46 three-point percentage.
The win today against Jewell leaves SBU at 3-12 within the conference, only one game behind both Rockhurst and Indianapolis. Rockhurst also happens to be the upcoming opponent here in the Meyer Wellness center this upcoming Thursday, February 12th at 5:30pm.
