Bolivar, Mo. — The Men's basketball team at Southwest Baptist University faced off against conference rivals William Jewell Saturday afternoon in the Meyer Wellness center. The Bearcats had a chance to even this season's series against in by forcing overtime, but eventually fell to the Cardinals in a devastating 66-77 loss.
Though the game was a loss, two players had standout performances. Junior
Zac Reedus led the team with 21 points bringing him to almost 100 points in the last five games, landing just shy at 98. Reedus also led the team with 12 rebounds for his second straight double-double.. Right behind Reedus was redshirt Junior
Jevin Sullivan with 13 points in the game. Sullivan also tallied six rebounds and five assists. Three of Sullivan's points came from a remarkable last second regulation shot from behind the arc to send the game into overtime.
The loss to Jewell leaves SBU at 6-9 within the conference only one game behind Truman State. This record makes the last games of the season vital to out as the schedule contains solely conference opponents.
