Bolivar, MO – The Southwest Baptist University men's basketball team took on conference rival, the Rockhurst University (RU) Hawks, at home Friday evening, falling short 59-75. The Bearcats now have an overall record of 12-12 and 6-10 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
SBU started the game strong and built momentum, scoring an early 6-0 lead. The Bearcats, however, could not hold onto their lead as the Hawks steadily took control of the game and built a comfortable lead. Every time the Bearcats scored a field goal, RU answered with one of their own. Southwest Baptist outscored Rockhurst in the second half 38-35 led by Junior

Leo Gayman also put up a notable 14 rebounds.
The Bearcats will be back in action on February 19th at 7:30 pm. They will travel to Springfield, MO to take on Drury University in a rematch, looking to sweep the season series against the Drury Panthers.
