Bolivar, Mo. – Southwest Baptist men's basketball fell at home in a crucial GLVC matchup, dropping a 73–67 decision to Truman State on Thursday night at the Meyer Sports Center.
The Bearcats struggled offensively in the opening half, managing just 21 points as Truman State built a 32–21 advantage at the break. Despite the slow start, SBU responded with much stronger energy in the second half, trading baskets with the Bulldogs all the way down to the final buzzer.
Southwest Baptist made several pushes to close the gap, but ultimately could not complete the comeback, as Truman State held on late to secure the six-point win.
Zac Reedus led the Bearcats with a double-double performance, finishing with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
Barron Silsby added 15 points with
Brandon Moore tagging along double figures with 10.
With the loss, Southwest Baptist moves to 12–10 overall and 6–8 in GLVC play. With just six games remaining in the regular season, every contest carries postseason implications for the Bearcats. SBU returns to action at home on February 7, hosting William Jewell at 3:00 p.m. in the Meyer Sports Center.
