Rolla, Mo. — On Saturday February 21, the Southwest Baptist University women's basketball team went up against Missouri S&T. The Bearcats claimed victory in overtime winning by a final score of 73-70 bringing their overall record to 8-16 and their GLVC record to 5-13.
The Bearcats shot into the lead early and held onto it for a majority of the game. Trailing by as much as 11, the Miners battled back to take the lead with four minutes remaining in the game. A late three by senior
Natalia Crooke tied the game at 60 forcing an extra five minutes of play.
Two lead changes into overtime, the Bearcats took the lead off a layup from
Carolina Crawford which would hold for the final minutes of the game. Seven made free throws down the stretch by Crooke,
Kamiyah Hurd, and
Ida Lusadisu N'Gonda led SBU to victory.
