Bolivar, Mo. — Southwest Baptist University's women's basketball team hosted Lewis University Saturday at the Meyer Sports Center, falling to the Flyers 59-70. The loss puts the Bearcats at 5-12 for the season and 2-9 for GLVC play.
The Bearcats and Flyers went back-and-forth in the first half, reaching half-time with Lewis University only up 31-29. In the third quarter, the Flyers, riding the momentum of a nine-game win-streak, pulled ahead with the Bearcats unable to regain a lead.
Natalia Crooke led the Bearcats in scoring, claiming 17 points.

Eviyon Richardson each earned 12 points to join Crooke as top scorers for the Bearcats. SBU rivaled LU in rebounds as SBU's
Kamiyah Hurd tied LU's Gabi Hoover for the game high of nine rebounds.
The Bearcats head back on the road next week to face Upper Iowa University on Thursday, January 29 and Quincy University on Saturday, January 31.
