Lebanon, IL. - Southwest Baptist women's basketball fell in yet another tough matchup against their opposing Bearcats at McKendree University. Thursday evening marked the SBU Bearcats fourth contest in 2026, bringing their overall record to 5-9 on the season and 2-6 in GLVC play.
In a game that was decided by rebounds, the margin difference was in favor of McKendree. That same squad started the game off strong and never looked back. The Bearcats from Southwest Baptist were led by junior forward
Ida Lusadisu N'Gonda. N'Gonda forged the path for SBU scoring 12 points and pulling down 4 rebounds to go along with it.
Kamiyah Hurd was another major factor for SBU as she brought down a team high 7 rebounds, doing her best to keep McKendree off of the offensive glass. Sophomore guard Regan Wells also provided help off of the bench notching 3 points, an assist and a steal in 15 minutes.
SBU will look to bounce back Saturday, January 17th, as they travel to Springfield, Illinois to take on the Prairie Stars of UIS, who are currently 3-5 in GLVC play. This game will take place at 1:00 p.m. in the TRAC.
