Bolivar, Mo. – The SBU men's basketball team six-game home win streak ended Saturday afternoon as they fell to the Missouri St. Louis Tritons, 46-78. That loss moves the Bearcats to 9-6 (3-4 GLVC) on the season.
Early into the game the Tritons intense defensive pressure made it difficult for the Bearcats to get any momentum. As shots were falling for the road them they were not falling for the home team. Despite that, the Bearcats were able to out hustle the Tritons on the board out rebounding them 32-26 including nine offensive boards creating 11 second chance points.
Two Bearcats scored double figures with freshman
Leo Gayman leading the way at 11 points. He went 50% from the field and a perfect 5-5 from the charity stripe. Gayman was one rebound shy of his third career double-double. Reedus notched another double figure score with 10 points to go along with his four rebounds, and one assist.
The team will now head back on the road for two games, starting with McKendree University on Thursday, January 15
th. The game will take place in Lebanon, Illinois with a start time of 7:30 p.m.
