Bolivar, Mo – Southwest Baptist men's soccer dropped a home Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) contest Friday afternoon, falling 0-4 to McKendree at the SBU Soccer Field.
The Bearcats from McKendree (3-3-1, 3-1-0 GLVC) opened the scoring in the 7th minute when Adam Reiniger finished a pass from Lenny Dupouyet. Despite three first-half shots from SBU, including attempts on target by
Zinedine Cherik and
Sly Youhanna, McKendree held a 0-1 lead at halftime. McKendree continued to pressure in the second half scoring three more goals to finish the game.
SBU goalkeeper Jan-Henry Schafer finished with two saves for the home team.
Iker Lorenzo,
Nadir Souak, and
Derrick Londono Zapata led the team in minutes played with 81, 80, and 77 minutes respectively.
With the loss, Southwest Baptist moves to 3-5-0 overall and 0-4-0 in conference play. The Bearcats return to action on Sunday when they host Illinois Springfield at the SBU Soccer Field.
