Jefferson City, Mo. — The SBU women's soccer team displayed determination and growth in their afternoon game against Lincoln University of Missouri as they tied 2-2, earning a point towards the GLVC standings. This puts the Bearcats at 2-3-1 for the season and 0-1-1 for conference play.
The Bearcats played an impressive offense throughout the match, out shooting the Blue Tigers with 16 total shots for the game.
Midfielder
Addi Shuler (#22), assisted by forward
Tamerra Gantt (#11), scored the first goal of the game just shy of 20 minutes into the match. The Bearcats continued to battle Lincoln for control as the Blue Tigers scored in the 27th minute of the game and again in the 38th minute, pulling Lincoln into a 1-2 lead. With only a few minutes to spare, Gantt evened out the match with her goal in the 39th minute of the game, bringing the score to 2-2.
Forward
Lydia Fickle (#25) was strong on the offensive side of the ball with five total shots and one shot on goal, holding the highest number of shots for the game out of both teams. Gantt and sisters Annabelle (#7) and
Addi Shuler (#22) all aided the Bearcats offense with shots on target.
Goalkeeper
Cece Alexander (#1) once again put up an impressive performance with 6 total saves during the match — four in the first half and two in the second half.
Defenders
Jadyn Clark (#4),
Emma Burton (#23), and
Taylor Branch (#26) joined Alexander to play the full 90 minutes of the game.
