St. Louis, MO—The final whistle blew in the late afternoon air, as the Bearcat women's soccer team ended their Sunday GLVC matchup. The Bearcats stood on the field after a tough 90-minute game with a 0-4 defeat from University of Missouri St. Louis (UMSL). This moves them 2-4-1 (0-2-1 GLVC) on the season.
The team worked hard and gave it their all the entire game. The first 45 minutes didn't produce any goals on either side as they went into half knotted up at 0. Fighting as a unified team, holding the back line with every ounce of their strength, the fierce 1st half defense wasn't enough to carry them through the second half.
UMSL scored their first goal at the 4-minute and 20-second mark of the second half, with three to follow through the remainder of the game. Although the team worked hard and held an aggressive back line, UMSL offense and well placed shots powered them through.
After four home games the Bearcats are excited to return home for more conference matchups. Next up this week is Friday, September 26th at 4 PM vs McKendree University at the SBU soccer field. For all of the latest information on SBU Athletics, please visit
