Springfield, MO.- The SBU Men's Tennis team fell in their first conference match of the season to University of Missouri-St. Louis 3-4, on Friday night. This puts them to be 6-7 (0-1 GLVC) for the season.

Starting off the match in the doubles action, the Bearcats swept all of their matches. Juani Morresi and
Marcio Silva as the #1 team easily conquered their opponents (6-2). The #2 team,
Alejandro Beneyto Sanchez and
Bojan Radoman, dominated their match winning with ease (6-1). Lastly the #3 team also contributed a win to help secure the doubles point for the Bearcats with
Alejandro Bravo and
Federico Riolo.

To start off the single matchups in the #1 spot Silva won his match effortlessly (6-1, 6-4). Sanchez in the #2 spot retired just a few games into the first set, giving the point to the Tritons. The Bearcats struggled in the next two matchups giving the Tritons the next two points. In the #3 spot, Radoman fell in a tough three set matchup despite a good second set win (3-6, 6-3, 2-6). Bravo in the #4 spot dropped his match, even though he played a very close second set (1-6, 6-7). Then the Bearcats bounced back thanks to Morresi in the #5 spot defeating his opponent with ease in two sets (2-6, 1-6). For a chance to clinch the game, Riolo in the #6 spot battled tough and fell in two tight sets, giving the Tritons the final point to clinch the match (5-7, 6-7).

The Bearcats will take a break from conference play and travel to Fulton, MO. for their next match. They will play William Woods University on Thursday, April 10 at 11:00 am.
