Romeoville, Ill. - The SBU Baseball team dropped a close one in their series opener against 15th nationally ranked Lewis University, Thursday afternoon. This moves their record to 14-25 (7-14 GLVC).

The Bearcats went down three early going into the third.
Xie Ferguson responded with a two-run bomb for his third homer of the season.
Lane Snow followed up the next inning with a two-run homer himself to put the Bearcats up one, his fourth HR of the season. The game's scoring stalled over the next few innings before the Flyers took a one score lead going into the eighth. With the Bearcats needing an answer, record holder
Zeke Skinner went yard for another SBU two run homer to tally his 10th this season. Lewis went on to tie in the eighth and steal the win in the ninth.

Roberto Garcia started on the mound and after a 1
st inning struggle bounced back to pitch four straight scoreless.

Cody Gibson,
Jake Fuller, and
Sam Peterson all saw time on the mound with petterson recording the loss. SBU finished with 11 hits on the day.
