Kirksville, MO - This Saturday, the SBU baseball team continued their weekend up north with a doubleheader against the Truman State Bulldogs. They are now 12-17 on the season after the losses from today (5-6 in conference).
Game 1: L, (0-2)
In game one, Sophomore pitcher
Ryan McClish recorded a season high 2 assists, as well as racking 5 strikeouts for SBU. The Bearcats recorded 2 doubles -
Zeke Skinner in the top of the second as well as
Cole Reece in the top of the third. SBU held the Bulldogs until Truman scored a late 2 runs, ending the game with a score of 0-2.
Game 2: L, (1-7)
Truman got an early lead in game two, but
Tre Mungin answered with a homerun in the top of the sixth, ending the game 1-7. The game was pitched by
Jake Fuller,
Kelden Hastings, and
Hayden Hable, with Fuller recording the loss.
SBU will close their weekend series against Truman State on Sunday with a game at 12:00 PM.
