Bolivar, MO - The SBU baseball team began their weekend series against the Upper Iowa Peacocks with a Friday night win 11-8, bringing them to 11-12 (4-1 GLVC).
 
In the bottom of the 1st, Zeke Skinner scored Dominic Tellez on an RBI single and Tre Mungin brought in Lane Snow. After the Peacocks found the scoreboard with one run in the top of the 2nd, SBU quickly responded with eight unanswered runs over the next two innings. A single by Tellez pushed Caden Shaver across the plate and a double off the bat of Skinner with the bases loaded scored Marcos Franjul and Tellez. Mungin added his second RBI in as many innings on a SAC fly that brought in Snow. Raydley Legito joined the RBI party with a single to center, scoring Skinner. 
 
Moving to the 3rd, both Franjul and Snow each had RBI singles bringing home Shaver and giving Tellez his third run of the game. Mungin added another SAC fly that scored Franjul. SBU added another run in the 7th and held on late after a push from the Peacocks. Both Tellez and Skinner finished with three hits, while Skinner had a team high four RBI's.
 
Roberto Garcia finished with the win on the mound, pitching six strong innings that featured five strikeouts. Nash Crosby, Cody Gibson, and Sam Peterson pitched in relief. 
 
SBU will continue the home series against UIU Saturday at 12 & 3 PM at Dodson Field.
