SBU's 4th Straight Win Comes Over Comets

Richardson, Texas – The SBU men's tennis team returned to action Monday afternoon collecting their 4th straight win defeating University of Texas-Dallas 6-1 moving to 5-2 on the season.
 
The doubles point was a close battle with Marcio Silva and Jauni Morresi defeated their doubles match 6-3 at the #1 spot. Shortly after, Alejandro Bravo and Bojan Radoman dropped the #2 spot 3-6 bring the doubles point to a tiebreaking game at the #3 spot. Federico Riolo and Alejandro Beneyto came up clutch winning 7-5, putting SBU up 1-0.
 
Momentum continued into the singles matches as they won five out of the six, collecting the win. At the #1 spot, the GLVC Player of the Week Marcio Silva had a tough battle but came out on top winning the third set (6-2, 5-7, 6-4). The #2 and #3 spots were easier for the Bearcats with Beneyto Sanchez winning (6-4, 6-1) and Radoman defeating his opponent (6-3,6-0). After clinching the match at those spots, Morresi had the biggest win of the day at the #5 spot only dropping one set (6-1, 6-0). Riolo added point number 6 at the #6 spot winning (6-3, 6-1). The only Bearcat to fall in the game was Bravo Diaz in a closely contested match dropping set three 4-6.
 
The men's tennis team will continue their trip in Texas as they take on Midwestern State University, currently ranked 9th in the Nation. The game will take place in Wichita Falls, Texas at 2:00pm.
