Bearcats Final Push Falls Short Against Bulldogs

Kirksville, MO - The SBU Women's Basketball team lost a tough one to the Bulldogs of Truman State University 77-84, moving them to 8-13 (6-9 GLVC).

Truman State started off hot in the first quarter shooting 68% from the field and 4-9 from three, putting them up 11 after one. The Bearcats responded well, outscoring the Bulldogs 18-12 in the second. The Bulldogs held a comfortable lead for most of the second half until SBU brought it back to within 4 with 27 seconds left, on a Carolina Crawford layup and free throw. Ultimately Truman State held on.

Graduate Amber Storr led the way for SBU with 17 points and 6 rebounds. Senior LJ Boyland nearly finished with a double-double, with 15 points and 9 rebounds. Bianca Oliver and Carolina Crawford (2-2 3PT) each contributed 9 points off the bench and Senior Tori Hamilton added 7 points and 2 blocks, which gives her a share of the all-time record for career blocks in SBU history.
