Kirksville, Mo. – The SBU men's basketball team finished their road trip falling to Truman State Bulldogs 73-79 moving them to 7-14 (4-11 GLVC) on the season.
The Bearcats fell behind early trailing by as much as six points but battled back taking the lead with just under nine minutes to go. SBU offense continued to thrive throughout the first half heading into the locker room up 38-31. In half two, the Bearcats struck first increasing the lead to nine but a 13-5 brought the Bulldogs right back in it. Shortly after they retook the lead and kept it through the rest of the game.

Drenin Dinkins achieved a big mile marker in the game recording his 1,000
th career point in just his 71
st game in the Bearcat uniform. Dinkins along with
Jevin Sullivan led the team in scoring with 15 points on the game. Just behind them was senior
David Hector with 14 points and team high six rebounds. Drawing a total of 14 fouls in the game, the Bearcats had an impressive showing from the charity stripe going 19-20 (95%).
SBU will get a week off before returning home as they host the Rockhurst Hawks for the second time this season. The game is scheduled for Saturday February 15
th at 3:00pm in the Meyer Center.
