Liberty, MO.- The SBU Women's Basketball team picked up their sixth conference win of the season as they defeated the William Jewell Cardinals 78-66 Thursday night. This moves them to be 8-12 (6-8 GLVC) for the season.

The Bearcats quickly jumped ahead early in the first quarter as they went on a 15-4 run. SBU dominated the first half and went into halftime with the lead of 42-33. Going into the second half the Bearcats only continued to control this game. They never gave the lead up or let the Cardinals come close to their score. To secure the win for SBU, they continued going on multiple scoring runs leaving the Cardinals behind, completing a season sweep.

There were many Bearcats that contributed to their big win tonight. The high scores tonight were led by
Odett Schlegl with 19 points and followed closely behind by
Tori Hamilton and
LJ Boyland putting up 15 and 13 points. Another big factor was SBU beating out the Cardinals in rebounds 41-27.
Bianca Oliver and Hamilton each put up seven rebounds a piece for their team. In addition to rebounds, SBU's points in the paint also led them to their big win by beating out Jewell 42-14.

Southwest Baptist will stay on the road and travel to Kirksville, MO. to play the Truman State University Bulldogs on Saturday, February 8 at 1:00pm in Pershing Building.
