Liberty, MO - The SBU Men's basketball team dropped their first game of the weekend to the William Jewell Cardinals by a score of 70-86, moving them to 7-13 (4-10 GLVC).
At the end of the first half, the Cardinals went into the locker room with a 12-point lead. Despite numerous attempts from the Bearcats to get back into the game, including tying the game once, the Cardinals controlled the rest of the game.
As a team, the Bearcats had a strong performance on the glass, out rebounding the Cardinals 36-29. Junior
Drenin Dinkins led all scorers with 28 points, doing most of his damage at the charity strike (14-17 FT). Both
David Hector and
Brandon Moore just missed double figures, each finishing with 9 points. Junior
Luke Ogle's contribution featured 7 points and 4 rebounds.
The Bearcats will look to bounce back as they travel to Kirksville, MO on Saturday for another conference matchup against the Truman State University Bulldogs. Tip off will be at 3:00 pm.
