Branson, MO - On day two of the DII Leadoff Classic, the SBU Bearcats went 1-1. This brings their record to 1-3 on the young season.
Game 1 vs. East Central University: L, 0-9
For much of the game, there was a clear pitchers dual forming that featured Junior
Emma Kreisel of the Bearcats. However, after four innings Kreisel was replaced and East Central eventually tacked on 7 runs in the 6th to add to their 2-0 lead. The lone hit for the Bearcats came from Senior infielder
Margo Frossard.
Game 2 vs. Oklahoma Baptist: W, 3-2

Shalie Wooden started on the mound for SBU and pitched a complete game, striking out 5, and only allowed 5 hits, moving her to (1-1) on the season. Graduate
Kate McConville went 2-3 at the plate and got the scoring started when she crossed home plate on a wild pitch in the 4th. In the 5th inning, McConville tallied an RBI via her single that scored Freshman Hallie McMillian. Another run was added by
Margo Frossard via wild pitch in the 5
th, leading to a Bearcat victory.
SBU will look to build on this win as they travel to Wichita Falls, Texas to compete in the Mustang Roundup next Friday and Saturday. The first matchup will be against Northwestern Oklahoma State University on Friday, February 7th at 12:30pm.
