Springfield, Mo. – The SBU men's tennis began their 2025 campaign by taking down the Evangel Valor 7-0 putting them at 1-0 to start the season.
The Bearcats swept the doubles point winning in all three spots. It started with a dominant 6-1 score at the #2 spot from
Alejandro Bravo and
Bojan Radoman. At the #1 spot,
Marcio Silva and
Jauni Morresi took down their opponents 6-3. Alejandro Beneyto and
Federico Riolo battled hard slightly pulling out victory 7-6 (7-4).
Momentum continued into the singles matches, with every Bearcat winning in only two sets.
Marcio Silva began defeating his opponent 7-6 and 6-2 at the #1 spot. At the #2 spot, Beneyto controlled his opponent 6-2 and 6-1.
Bojan Radoman clinched the 4
th Bearcat point and victory with a 6-3 and 6-2 win. In following matches,
Jauni Morresi won (6-0,6-1) at the four spot, Bravo (6-1,6-3) at the #5 spot, and Riolo finished it out (6-2,6-3) at the #6 spot.
Southwest Baptist returns to action next Saturday, as they head back down to Springfield to take on Harding University at Cooper Tennis Complex.
