Box Score Springfield, Mo. – The SBU Bearcats battled against the Harding University Bisons on Saturday at the Cooper Tennis Complex but ultimately fell short. The match places SBU at 1-1 for the season.
Starting off the match,
Juan Ignacio Morresi and
Marcio Silva won the #1 spot in doubles action 7-6.
Bojan Radoman and
Alejandro Bravo Diaz battled hard in the #2 spot but lost to their opponents 5-7. In the #3 spot,
Alejandro Beneyto Sanchez and
Frederico Ivan Riolo fell to the Bisons 3-6, giving Harding the doubles point.
The Bearcats persisted against the Bisons during the singles matches. In the #1 spot,
Silva won one game 7-6 (7-3) but lost the others 4-6 and 6-7 (9-11).
Beneyto Sanchez in the #2 spot fell to his opponent 5-7 and 3-6. In the #3 spot,
Radoman battled with this competitor, winning one game 6-4 but falling short of the point. The Bisons gained their clinching point of the match with the #3 spot.
Morresi played in the #4 spot,
Bravo Diaz in the #5 spot, and
Riolo in the #6 spot, but the last three matches remained unfinished.
Southwest Baptist returns to Springfield on Sunday, February 9 at 11:00 AM to play Drury University at the Cooper Tennis Complex.
