Bolivar, Mo. — Tuesday night, the Lady Bearcats took on the Emporia State University Hornets on the Bearcats' home court. SBU's second game of the season ended in a loss, 61-84 and put the team at 1-1 for the season. 
As the game started off, the Bearcats maintained a lead through the end of the first quarter with a score of 17-14. Going strong into the second quarter, the Bearcats held a 53.85% field goal percentage by making seven out of their 13 shots for the second quarter. 

Despite their early lead, SBU ended the first half 33-44, trailing the Hornets. Although the ladies put up a tough fight in the third and fourth quarters, the game ended in favor of the Hornets 61-84.     
        
Junior, Tinu Fanukle helped lead the team with 11 overall points, three defensive rebounds, and a 50% accuracy on three-pointers. Sophomore Nahia Esnoala Agean ended the game with 10 points, four offensive rebounds, five defensive rebounds, and two blocks — near her second straight double-double.
        
Looking forward, the Southwest Baptist University women's basketball team is headed to Topeka, Kan. to battle Washburn University on Friday, November 21 and Northeastern State University on Saturday, November 22.
