Bolivar, Mo– Southwest Baptist used a dominant second-half surge to take down Ecclesia 59–48 on Monday night inside the Meyer Sports Center, improving to 2–1 on the season.

After trailing 25–23 at halftime, the Bearcats found their rhythm offensively and locked in defensively, outscoring the Royals 36–23 over the final 20 minutes. SBU controlled the glass throughout the night, finishing with a 45–28 rebounding advantage, including 18 offensive boards that helped create second-chance opportunities. They held the Royals to 34% from the field and 23% from the three-point line.

Zac Reedus led the way with 16 points, attacking downhill and converting 10 of his 15 attempts at the free throw line. Barron Silsby added 13 points and a team-high 5 assists, while Luke Ogle delivered a strong all-around performance with 12 points and 11 rebounds for his first double-double of the season. Jevin Sullivan provided a spark off the bench with 7 points and 7 rebounds.

With the win, SBU moves to 2–1 and returns to action later this week as they take on Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas. That game will take place at 7:00 p.m.
