Elsah, IL. — Southwest Baptist University's Men's Basketball traveled to Elsah, Illinois today to take on Thomas Moore University (TMU). The Bearcats were outscored by the Saints with a final score of 70 to 53.
SBU started off the game slow, only scoring 26 points in the first half, but quickly highlighted their resilience by having a much closer second half. In the second half the Bearcats were only outscored by 3 points. Over the entirety of the game the spotlight was on the Bearcats defense totaling 4 blocks, 1 more than the Saints, as well as a steal added on top. This defense also led to seven points off of turnovers from TMU as well as another 4 points during fast break transitions.
Some standout SBU stats include an 18 point game from junior
Zac Reedus who played 38 minutes and tallied six rebounds and an assist as well. Returning redshirt junior Jevin Sulllivan was next up with 13 points of his own, as well as a stellar game on defense. He got nine rebounds with 7 on defense as well as a block and assist on the game. One final standout is returning grad Student
Sasha Glushkov who shot 66 percent from 3.
