Indianapolis, Ind. - SBU women's soccer returned to action Friday evening with a long road trip to the heart of Indiana. The Bearcats fell to University of Indianapolis by a final score of 1-2, moving to 3-6-1 (1-4-1 GLVC) on the season.

Early into the game, Southwest Baptist had numerous opportunities at a goal that were all stopped by the Greyhound defense. It didn't take much longer before senior
Tamerra Gantt notched her fifth goal of the season putting the Bearcats ahead. Eight minutes player Indianapolis scored the equalizer giving each team another 60 minutes to claim three points.

The game remained tied as each team had equal opportunities on net. In the 42nd minute, the Greyhounds broke the even match with a shot that just snuck by the outstretched arms of goalkeeper
Cece Alexander. SBU had one final opportunity in the final seconds of the first half as junior
Annabelle Shuler had a stellar opportunity to tie the game before the Greyhound keeper made a big save. The final 45 minutes of the game remained scoreless as the Bearcats fell 1-2.Â

Four Bearcats played the full 90 minutes in seniors
Jadyn Clark and
Tamerra Gantt, along with juniors
Taylor Branch and
Annabelle Shuler. Gantt was a powerhouse on offense recording seven total shots with four finding their mark on target. With her fifth goal this season, she has now matched her single season high with multiple games still left to play.

One more game on this long road trip for Southwest Baptist as they take on the Lewis University Flyers. This game is scheduled to take place on Sunday beginning at 12pm.
