Liberty, Mo. - Finishing out their final road trip of the season, the SBU women's soccer team ended with a 1-1 draw against William Jewell College. The Bearcats earned a point toward the GLVC standings moving to 3-10-2 overall and 1-8-2 in conference.
It was a tale of two halves for Southwest Baptist as the first half went the way of the Cardinals with a goal in the 24th minute. Despite being out shot 3-8 after 45, the Bearcats bounced back to control play in the second half. They out shot the Cardinals 14 to 2 with many more chances. In the 72nd minute, SBU tied the game with a goal from
Addi Shuler with a pass from
Tamerra Gantt.
Shuler scored her third goal of the season, tying 2nd on the team with fellow freshman
Lydia Fickle with three goals. Gantt continues her team lead in points with her third assist of the year to go along with her seven goals. Gantt also had her chances on goal with five total shots and two on goal. Playing time was controlled by the freshman Shuler and
Kenadie Limb as they were the only two field Bearcats to play the full 90. Sophomore
Cece Alexander added three saves to her total.
SBU women's soccer is done with games on the road for the season as they finish out with a three-game home stand. The first will take place on Friday, October 24th at 4:00 p.m. against Rockhurst University.
