Women's Soccer Outshoot Hawks in Loss at Home

Bolivar, Mo. - The SBU women's soccer team capped off their homecoming weekend against the top team in the GLVC of Quincy University. The Bearcats out matched the Hawks on shots but fell by a final score of 0-2. This moves them to 3-9-1 (1-7-1 GLVC) on the season. 
 
The Hawks struck first with a goal in the 3rd minute of the game, well placed by the Hawks scorer. The Bearcats didn't let this discourage them though, and continued playing hard, taking many shots on goal. Senior, Tamerra Gantt, and sisters, Annabelle and Addi Shuler, displayed excellent teamwork and persistence, combining for five shots on goal in the 1st half. 
 
Though the competition was fierce, the Bearcats kept playing hard, showcasing their defensive skills and holding off their opponents for most of the second period. Sophomore Goalkeeper, CeCe Alexander, was able to defend a total of four shots from the opposing team throughout the game. Overall, the team displayed great effort and continuous determination throughout the game, never giving up.
 
After this game, the Bearcat's women's soccer team is headed to Kirksville, MO.,  where they will be competing against Truman State University on Friday, October 17th. Kickoff for the game is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
