Bolivar, Mo. - The SBU Women's Basketball team fell to the Quincy Hawks 54-66 Thursday night. This moves them to be 7-11 (5-7 GLVC) for the season.
Â
The Hawks entered the game with a lot of momentum winning eight straight wins. The Bearcats played a very tough first half trailing by the end of the second quarter. Regardless, SBU continued to battle. Throughout the third and fourth quarter they began to close the gap. The 15-3 run they went on in the fourth quarter greatly contributed to this making it a four-point game. However, the Hawks took back the momentum to finish the game.
Â
Leading the Bearcats as the top scorer for tonight was
Amber Storr with 14 points.
Tori Hamilton was also a big contributor tonight with three blocks, which now puts her five blocks away from breaking the SBU career record. The Bearcats did beat out the Hawks in steals 12-7 with help from Storr with three steals and
Eviyon Richardson and
Carolina Crawford with two apiece.
