Indianapolis, IN. - The SBU men's basketball team fell to the University of Indianapolis Greyhounds Saturday afternoon 62-78 bringing them to 6-11 (3-8 GLVC) on the season.
The game remained back and forth for a good part of the first half as the Bearcats went into the locker room only down six (28-34). Overall, the game featured five lead changes and seven ties with both teams scoring an equal 26 points in the paint. The deciding factor came in the second half as UIndy shot an efficient 66% from the field compared to the Bearcats' 36%.
For the second straight game, Freshman
Barron Silsby led the way for SBU scoring 14 points and grabbing five rebounds. Both
Drenin Dinkins (12 points) and
Branden Eckles (11 points) also helped pace the Bearcats offensively. Freshman
Brandon Moore remained a bright spot, adding eight points in 27 minutes.
The Bearcats will look to shift the narrative as they travel back home to Bolivar to face the Hawks of Quincy University on Thursday, January 30th at 7:30pm in the Meyer Wellness Center.
