Romeoville, Ill. - The SBU women's basketball team fell to the Lewis Flyers 57-71 Thursday night. This moves them to be 7-9 (5-5 GLVC) for the season.

Throughout the first quarter it was a tight game going point for point between both teams. At halftime SBU was trailing by 22 points. Regardless, the Bearcats battled hard working to make up the difference in the end of the third and beginning of the fourth. However, the Flyers pushed back putting up 18 points in the fourth quarter which put them out of reach by the end of the game.

Kristin Edmonds were the highest scorers for the Bearcats on the evening putting up 12 points apiece. Senior
LJ Boyland achieved a season high as she led the team with nine rebounds. Although the Bearcats took a tough loss, they beat out the Flyers 21-8 in bench points.Â

Southwest Baptist will stay on the road and travel to Indianapolis, In. to play the Greyhounds on Saturday, January 25 at 12:00pm in Nicoson Hall.
