Bolivar, MO - In their first home game of 2025, the SBU Women's basketball team defeated the University of Illinois Springfield Prairie Stars by a score of 81-78. That moves the Lady Bearcats to 6-8 (4-4 GLVC) on the season.
After being down 7 at the half, they responded emphatically putting up 33 points in the third quarter. This paired with another strong performance in the paint resulted in a thrilling home victory.In a true back and forth affair, the Bearcats played with great balance and chemistry as five players scored in double figures.
Odett Schlegl led the way with a very efficient 15 points (3-4, 3PT) and 5 rebounds.
Carolina Crawford added a career high with 12 points and
Tori Hamilton finished with another signature double-double tallying 10 points and 12 rebounds.
Amber Storr (13 points) and
LJ Boyland (11 points) rounded out the double figure scoring for the Bearcats.
The team will look to add a third straight conference win this Saturday, January 18th, as they play host to McKendree University at 1:00 PM in the Meyer Wellness Center.
