Pittsburg, Kan. – The SBU women's volleyball continued their season looking to remain undefeated as they finished up the Gorilla Classic. The Bearcats were unable to keep their streak alive as they fell to Oklahoma Christian and Pitt State in both games moving to 2-2 on the season.
In game one against the Eagles, the Bearcats offense was thwarted by the Eagles epic defense. 12 different Bearcats recorded a kill in the match,
Mya Leach led the team with six.
Katie Pogue recorded another double-double with 10 assists and 10 digs.
Southwest Baptist took the court again a few hours later against the host team of Pitt State Gorillas. Junior
Ella Rademaker led the team in kills with nine for the second time this season. Sophomore
Chandler Lawrence led the team in blocks with five assisted and one solo for a total of 6.5 points.
The Bearcats will continue their action next Friday, September 13
th, as they travel to Tennessee to compete in the Union Classic. Over the course of two days they will compete against four opponents, with the first two being Catawba College and Union University at 10am and 7pm respectively.
