Lebanon, Ill. – The SBU men's soccer team finished their road trip Sunday afternoon as they took on McKendree University. McKendree is the #10 ranked team in the country and SBU was not able to contain them as they fell 0-1 moving to 2-4-3 (1-3-1 GLVC) on the season.
The game stayed tight for a majority of the game with each team getting chances at the goal. But it was the McKendree Bearcats that struck in the 19
th minute scoring a goal in the bottom right corner of the net giving the SBU keeper, Marco Iñiguez, no chance of stopping it. Iñiguez and senior
Victor Valero were the only SBU Bearcats to play a full 90 minutes keeping the McKendree offense at bay. Coming off the bench for the Bearcats was freshman defender
Dylan Gorman who put up 59 strong minutes assisting the SBU defense.
Southwest Baptist now returns home on Friday, October 4
th as they host Lewis University. The Bearcats will look for their first win against the Flyers on the SBU soccer field with a scheduled start time of 1:30pm.
