Bolivar, Mo. – The SBU men's soccer team returned home Friday afternoon as they hosted the Flyers from Lewis University. Lewis, a 2023 Final Four team, defeated the Bearcats 0-3 moving SBU 2-5-3 on the season.
The Flyers struck early and hard scoring two goals in the first 12 minutes, with their third coming in the 34
th minute. The Bearcats controlled the time of possession in most of the second half but were unable to put the ball in the back of the net. Junior goalkeeper Marco Iñiguez recorded four saves on the game bringing his season total to 31 saves. Junior
Giovanni Cascone led all Bearcats with 75 total minutes played.
Southwest Baptist will be back in action on Sunday as they host the Greyhounds of Indianapolis. The game will take place at the SBU soccer field at 2:30pm.
