Bolivar, Mo. – The SBU men's soccer team hosted the GLVC top team in University of Indianapolis Greyhounds. The Bearcats fell to the Greyhounds 0-2 moving to 2-6-3 (1-5-1 GLVC) on the season.
Both teams battled back-and-forth early each getting their own chances. It wasn't until a flurry of corner kicks by the Greyhounds in the final minutes of the first half that led to an Indianapolis goal. Southwest Baptist continued to have numerous chances in the second but were not able to find the back of the net before UIndy scored their second goal in the 78
th minute.
Five Bearcats played a full 90 minutes with center backs
Victor Valero and
Giovanni Cascone each stopping numerous attacks. On the right side was senior defender
Callum Bisset who had his second 90-minute game of the season. Getting his fourth start of the season and playing a full 90 was center midfielder
Iker Lorenzo.
After the toughest strength of schedule for the Bearcats, they now head on the road to Illinois and Iowa. Starting on Friday, October 11
th SBU travels to Quincy University to take on the Hawks. The game is scheduled for 7:30pm at Legends Stadium in Quincy, Illinois.
