Springfield, ILÂ - The SBU Women's soccer team hit the road for some more conference action this Friday. Taking on the University of Illinois Springfield, the Bearcats walk away with a record of 0-5-2 (0-3-1 in the GLVC) after a 1-3 loss to the stars.
SBU was the first to put a goal up on the board, with Junior Tamerra Gantt finding the net on a corner by Senior Julia Johnson. This makes for Gantt's second goal of the season, as well as Johnson's second career assist. Shortly after, the Stars answered back with a corner kick of their own, ending the first half in a 1-1 split. UIS put up 2 more in the second half, ending with a score of 1-3.
Several players contributed a full 90 minutes for SBU, including

The Bearcats will return to action on Sunday, September 29th as they face McKendree University (#13). The game will take place in Lebanon, Illinois at Leemon Field with a kickoff scheduled for 12:00 pm.
