Springfield, IL - The SBU Women's soccer team hit the road for some more conference action this Friday. Taking on the University of Illinois Springfield, the Bearcats walk away with a record of 0-5-2 (0-3-1 in the GLVC) after a 1-3 loss to the stars.

SBU was the first to put a goal up on the board, with Junior Tamerra Gantt finding the net on a corner by Senior Julia Johnson. This makes for Gantt's second goal of the season, as well as Johnson's second career assist. Shortly after, the Stars answered back with a corner kick of their own, ending the first half in a 1-1 split. UIS put up 2 more in the second half, ending with a score of 1-3.

Several players contributed a full 90 minutes for SBU, including Cece Alexander, Jadyn Clark, Kendal Weiskopf, Isabel Schelhammer, Annabelle Shuler, and Abby Youngblood.

The Bearcats will return to action on Sunday, September 29th as they face McKendree University (#13). The game will take place in Lebanon, Illinois at Leemon Field with a kickoff scheduled for 12:00 pm.
