Bolivar, Mo - This Sunday afternoon, the SBU Women's soccer team moves to 0-4-2 on the season and 0-2-1 in conference play after facing Lincoln University in a 0-1 loss.
Sophomore attacker Annabelle Shuler had a standout performance, creating multiple scoring opportunities for SBU. The Bearcat's main opportunity was found in the second half, with Shuler finding the back of the net on a cross by Junior Tamerra Gantt. The SBU goal was ultimately ruled a handball, and the Blue Tigers put a free kick goal on the board not long after.
Senior Julia Johnson also had a significant contribution to the Bearcat's offense with 4 total shots, 2 of which were on goal.
The Bearcats will return to action on Friday, September 27th as they face the University of Illinois Springfield. The game will take place in Springfield, Illinois at Kiwanis Stadium with a kickoff scheduled for 5:00 pm.
