Jackson, Tn. – The SBU women's volleyball team continued their season at the Union classic Saturday afternoon. The Bearcats were unable to keep their streak going as they fell in both games moving to 4-4 on the season.
In game one, the Bearcats fought hard against Southern Arkansas Muleriders but fell in four sets 1-3. Their strongest set came in the third when they combined for 18 kills and a .424 hitting percentage. Junior
Ella Rademaker led the team in kills with 12 for the third straight game with double digit kills. SBU setters
Katie Pogue and
Logan Drennan each had a double-double in digs and assists.
Just a few hours later SBU fell to University of Arkansas at Monticello in a tight match 1-3, two of the three sets had a two point difference. Rademaker continued to dominate in this match leading the team with 17 total kills. She becomes the first Bearcat to reach 100 kills on the season. Senior
Janel Pido added two serving aces to her already 17 on the season, only 15 away from breaking her career high.
SBU women's volleyball will return to play next Friday as they host the SBU Invitational. They will begin the tournament on Friday, September 20
th as they battle GLVC opponent Truman State and MIAA foe Missouri Southern.
