Springfield, Mo. – The SBU baseball team took on their rival Drury University in a home competition at the Panther home stadium. The Bearcats battled the road conditions and came home with a big win 6-4. Their first win over Drury in three years moves them to 12-35 (9-24 GLVC) on the season.
It was a pitchers battle to start as each starter allowed one run a piece through the first five innings. The game opened up in the 6
th as the Panthers scored their final three runs of the game to take a 4-1 lead. In the next half inning,
Dean Hagenhoff chipped into the lead with a solo home run to left center field. It was that same bat that gave the Bearcats the lead in the bottom of the 7
th, as Hagenhoff rocketed a double off the left center wall for 3 RBI's.

Eli Smock was able to earn his second win of the season throwing over a 100 pitches for seven strikeouts.
The Bearcats will return to Bolivar Friday afternoon for a doubleheader against the Panthers. The games are scheduled to begin at 3:00pm at Dodson Field.
