St. Louis, Mo. – The SBU men's tennis team traveled to St. Louis to take on the Missouri-St. Louis in a non-conference match. The Bearcats fell to the Tritons by the final score of 3-4, moving to 4-11 on the season.
The Bearcats would clinch their first point of the match in doubles play by the star duo
Ilyes Khelifi and Youseff Nabil winning the #1 spot 6-4. Then
Alejandro Beneyto Sanchez and
Pedro Pinto won 6-3 in the #2 spot, to clinch the point.
In singles play, Nabil won in 2 sets (6-0,6-4) at the #1 spot giving the Bearcats their second point of the match. Beneyto Sanchez won 7-6 and 6-4 in the second and third set to clinch the #2 spot point.
Southwest Baptist will return home to John A. Bryant Tennis Center next Friday as they open GLVC play against William Jewell College. The match is scheduled to begin at 2:00pm.
