St. Louis, Mo. – The SBU softball team began their final road trip of the season Thursday afternoon as they battled Missouri St. Louis. The Bearcats fell to the Tritons in both games of the doubleheader moving to 19-28 (8-15 GLVC) on the season.
In game one,
Audrey Rahlmann tied a career high in hits going 3-3 from the plate recording three singles. On top of that, three other bearcats recorded hits including
Angelina Micone,
Margo Frossard, and
Alyssa Reed. Despite those hits, SBU was shut down falling 0-8.
Game two was a pitchers battle all the way until the 5
th inning where it remained scoreless before a three-run blast from the Tritons. SBU fell in the game 0-3. Micone continued to perform being the only Bearcat to record a hit in both games. The freshman now has a batting average of .433 on the season, which is currently .008 higher than the SBU single season record. With only two games remaining, she has a chance of putting her name in the SBU record books.
The Bearcats will finish their season on Saturday afternoon as they travel to Lebanon, Illinois. They will take on McKendree University in a doubleheader matchup beginning at 12:00pm.
