Quincy, Ill. – The SBU Baseball team finished their series this weekend against Quincy Hawks. The Bearcats put up a good fight, but it was not enough as they fell 7-10 to make them 10-32 (7-21 GLVC) on the season. 

Starting on the mound was Khalil V'azquez Torres who pitched for 4.1 innings with a new season-high in strikeouts with 6. The Bearcats struck first as Tre Mungin and Dominic Tellez each had an RBI puting SBU up 2-0. Zeke Skinner then added to his newly achieved career record hitting a grand slam to give SBU a 6-0 lead at the top of the 2nd. The Bearcats held this lead until the bottom of the 5th when the Hawks would tie it up but SBU regained the lead in the 7th. Unfortunately, it was short lived as the Hawks made a comeback to take the last win of the series. 

Southwest Baptist will be back in action next week as they travel to Springfield, Ill. to face the UIS Prairie Stars for their last road trip of the season. The first pitch is scheduled for 1:00 PM on Friday April 26th, at the UIS Baseball Field.
